The engine control unit compares the load signal from the air mass meter with a load value calculated on the basis of the throttle valve angle and the engine speed. The difference between the two values is the altitude correction factor.
◆ At an altitude of approx. 400 m above sea level and under normal weather conditions, altitude adaption is not necessary.
- The correction factor at sea level is approx. 0%.
- At an altitude of 2000 m the correction factor is approx. -20%.
◆ The altitude adaption affects the following functions:
- Determining of injection quantity for starting
- Intake manifold pulsation compensation
